**FYI:** Do not rotate the camshaft during inspection.

3. Remove the [[CylinderHeadS2k cylinder head]] cover (see step 22 on Cylinder Head Removal ).
**FYI:** Apply new engine oil to the bolt threads.
9. Seat the camshafts by pushing them toward the rear end of the [[CylinderHeadS2k cylinder head]].
13. Remove the camshaft mounting bolts, dowel pins and camshaft plates on both camshafts. Wipe them clean and lubricate the mounting bolt threads with clean engine oil. Torque the bolts to 39 Nm (4.0 kgf.m, 29 lbf.ft).
14. Clean the camshaft journal surfaces in the [[CylinderHeadS2k cylinder head]], then set the camshafts back in place. Place a plastigage strip across each journal.
