COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING
1. Set heater controls to maximum heat. Fill cooling system with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water tobottom of filler neck. Loosen bleed bolt, located on thermostat housing.
2. Tighten bleed bolt when coolant flows from bleed bolt in steady stream without bubbles. With radiatorcap off, start and operate engine to normal operating temperature (fan comes on at least twice). Add coolant as necessary. Install radiator cap.

- 45,000 miles initially; 30,000 miles thereafter.

- 1.5L Engine: 4.6 Qts. (4.4L)
- 1.6L Engine: 5.0 Qts. (4.7L)
Coolant Capacity Including heater core and reservoir (MT):
- 1.5L Engine (D15B7 & D15B8): 4.8 Qts. (4.5L)
- 1.5L Engine (D15Z1): 4.6 Qts. (4.4L)
- 1.6L Engine (B16A3): 5.1 Qts. (4.8L)
- 1.6L Engine (D16Z6): 4.6 Qts. (4.4L)

Thermostat Opens:
- Starts
- 1.5L: 179-183°F (80-84°C)
- 1.6L: 169-179°F (76-80°C)
- Full Open
- 1.5L: 203°F (95°C)
- 1.6L: 194°F (90°C)
