A 2-speed front wiper motor with intermittent feature is used on all Honda Civic EG models. Wiper switch is part of the combination switch on the [[SteeringColumnEg steering column]]. Some models are also equipped with a rear wiper/washer system.
Remove [[SteeringColumnEg steering column]] cover. Disconnect 8-pin connector from wiper/washer switch. Check continuity between specified terminals with switch in indicated positions. **WARNING: Air bag system MUST be disabled BEFORE removing any [[SteeringColumnEg steering column]] component.**
Disable [[SteeringColumnEg air bag system]]. Remove dash lower trim cover. Remove steering column covers. On Civic, disconnect wiper/washer switch 6-pin and 8-pin connectors. On Civic Del Sol, disconnect wiper/washer switch 8-pin connector. Remove 2 screws and slide wiper/washer switch out of housing. To install, reverse removal procedure.
